In December, Robby Kiley concluded his time with us as our leader for College Fellowship at Notre Dame. Robby was given the opportunity to move towards his calling and career by accepting the Director of Religious Education position at St. Pius X in Granger, Indiana. Robby left us a foundation: 1) A healthy relationship with Notre Dame, 2) Young Life name recognition among students, and 3) Over 20 students that became Young Life Leaders.
Needless to say, his absence forced us to regroup. The staff, Area Director Brad Sytsma and Staff Associate Caryn Schierbeek, got together with the existing leaders, Ann Anosike and Clyde Taylor, and met with a handful of students to put a plan together. We decided to move our gatherings to every other week and meet at 9 PM on Tuesdays at Recker’s, a cafe on Notre Dame’s campus. We also planned to provide opportunities for our Leaders to speak and lead parts of our times.
Below is a picture from our last gathering which happened to be on St. Patrick’s Day. While a small group, it’s a very committed group and it looks like a good portion of them will be attending Young Life 101 on Sunday, March 29th, and consider becoming Young Life Leaders.
Thanks for your prayers for our ministry at Notre Dame!
