How will others know that we are Christ’s disciples? Jesus has an answer for this. As a matter of fact, it is a command.
After being betrayed by Judas and before being denied by Peter, Jesus offered a challenge to his disciples: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:34-35).
Are you a part of a ministry team? If so, how do you feel about your teammates? Are they people you like to be with ? Do you pray together? Cry together? Share your life with them? If you do not have a solid partnership with your team, you might be sharing the Gospel, but you are not really living it.
Some suggestions for building a partnership with your teammates:
- Get away for a weekend together.
- Go out for dinner and share life stories with each other.
- Visit each other’s churches.
- Meet once a week for breakfast.
“If I speak in human or angelic tongues, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging symbol” (1 Corinthians 13:1)
